The project started with the idea of making the whole bag by hand — sourcing, cutting, stitching and finishing — and of reading the market and the client closely enough to arrive at the desired bag they would not find ready-made.

Lello keeps one silhouette, in three sizes. The form is set, so the work with the client sits elsewhere: in the material — exotic leather, lace, fabric or leather, and only at the highest quality — and in the time it takes to make the bag by hand.
That was the point of starting it. Not a new shape each time, but the full sequence in one pair of hands: finding the material, cutting, stitching, finishing. The client stays with those decisions long enough to see what the design requires, and to recognise the bag they had wanted and could not buy.
